Like a Wistful Primrose

A Wistful Primrose

Like golden butterflies, aspen leaves flicker in the
morning breeze
that dares the sun to crawl
above the mountain peaks
as it announces its intention
with kaleidoscope clouds turning
from pink, to neon orange, to broad yellow strands
that melt into
apricot stratosphere moments
like embroidery on a morning blue sky.
The wistful primrose
welcomes another day.
