America, Dead in the Water

My country has truly let me down in its response to this pandemic. At this moment I see the United State of America dead in the water. The engines that keep it running  are drained to the point where the status quo is something we’ll remember, not relive.

Planetary Reply to Virus Lockdown

So how is it that a wily novel coronavirus plays havoc with modern standards of living, further pushes impoverished people into a hell hole of hunger, sickness and premature death, all while showing us what it is like to see mountains without a cloud of particulate pollutants?

Corporate Wealth vs Americans’ Health

I understand how corporations are mandated by law to bring profit to shareholders. Fair enough. But at the well-being of humanity? This, in my opinion is where our leadership shows no sign of moral judgement unless it is for profit.

A Stormy Change

The world changes of 2019 are no better than in 1967. There are leaders without compassion, ethics or foundational morality.  Power and greed are the key words affiliated with a growing handful of leaders around the planet. Followers cheer these leaders on, while others cry foul. How does this happen? Totes to Help Monarch Butterflies

The human-made threats like habitat destruction, development, pesticides, herbicides,  fertilizers, and invasive non native plants, are outside of a butterfly’s adaptability. This is where you and I must step in if we wish to continue the soulful joy of butterflies in the sky.

For Climate Change Student Protestors

All the scientific concerns about a changing global climate was as inconvenient as a rattlesnake in a living room — not to mention those pesky rules and regulations that disallowed bold and rampant pollution and the raping of the earth’s forests.

Check Your Heart When Employing Words

A drive through social media showcases this variable landscape accelerated by nitromethane. While some focus their use of language on beauty and bright opportunity, others take a verbal trek into the macabre world of finger-pointing and scapegoating.

What do you feel in your heart and mind when you read other’s words? Are you inspired to be a better person or do you want to go out there and kick some ass?  Do you feel comfort in those words or do you feel your blood pressure rise to unhealthy levels?  What happens within you when you read positive and kind words about others and the world around us, versus mocking and hateful language about others and the world around us?
