Thoughts During a Total Solar Eclipse

Gravitational pull.
Shadows.
Light blocked.
Total darkness.
Totality
on a path
that swaths across
the land where
I was born.
Chaos dwells,
upheaval
spills wreckage
within the
very heart-land.
Millions seek
a perfect
view of light
cloaked by the
shadow of this
moon, that’s new.
Mysteries
hide behind
predictions
of darkness
set upon
a mid-day
Sun, Ra, Light.

Will change be
ours to hold?
Will we join
in transit
and roll with
planet Earth,
moon shadows
and hidden
crevices of
wickedness?
Even in
totality
Ra continued
it’s glow in
majestic
and cosmic
beauty.
Oh no, dark
ones, you will
never win.
This moment
of light-filled
power swept
over me like
nothing that
I have ever
felt before.
Totality
cast me
into a
vast cosmic
sea of light
and blackness.
I allowed
the power
to control
my intake
of air, a
cosmic jolt
confirming
my faith in
the beyond.
Totality.
